Searching for any information on a Helen C. O'Sullivan, born 1835, died 1914. Not sure where. Believe she must have had a son Mortimer. Have evidence of his having been in Hesperia in early 1900's. Some how there is a tie in to my Cameron family. Think maybe the "C" in her middle name may have been Cameron. This all the info that I have. My great grandfather Boyd Cameron purchased a monument for her and Mortimer. They are buried in Houghton, Michigan. Why would he spend $135.00 for a cemetery monument if they weren't related? Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

BURNHAM, HARRISON, PETTINGILL
I am searching for information on HARRISON,BURNHAM and PETTINGILL families. John BURNHAM and wife Dorlisca WILBUR were parents of Robert L. BURNHAM, b. 6 Mar 1867. Robert married Eudora E. HARRISON, b. 4 Jun, 1837, married 03 Jul 1889. Eudora was the daughter of Philip and Emily (Pettingill) HARRISON. John and Dorlisca came to Everett Twp. in Newaygo Co. in 1869. They had seven children, Henry, Acel, Robert, Wilbur, Guy, Orpha and unknown. Robert, my great-grandfather married Eudora and had ten children.
I would be interested in locating information on when Robert's blacksmith shop (in Yuma) burned down. This event prompted the family to move west to Washington State in 1909 or 1910. Is there a local newspaper article that mentions this event? Several of the Burnham brothers remained in Michigan, either Yuma or Croton.
Philip HARRISON was known to have moved to Croton Twp. in 1855, owning a farm of 240 acres. He served as Deputy Sheriff for two years and Justice of the Peace for 12 years. Can any documentation of this be found? The HARRISONS lived there for 28 years. Philip and Emily had two daughters, Eudora and Gertie, who died at 17 from typhoid fever.
Can anyone help me with this? All costs will be reimbursed.

Charles Eri Day was born 29 Jul 1890, Cadillac, Wexford Co, Michigan. On his birth certificate his mother Minnie L. SIMONS birth date and place are 1867, Newago, Michigan. Ten years ago the Newago County clerk wrote me she couldn't a record of her birth in 1867. Minnie's parents Elihui A. Simons and Caroline Henderson were in the 1870 Federal Census of Newago, Newaygo Co, Michigan. It shows Minnie as 3 years old. Elihui was 48, born in New York. Caroline was 38 born in Ohio. Minnie married Henry Eri DAY 20 August 1884 in Wexford Co, Michigan.
Caroline Henderson was a daughter of Joseph Henderson and Susanna Story. Elihu Simons was a son of Loten(multiple spellings) Simons and Mary Gray. Loten died in Walker Township, Kent County, Michigan 1839-41. Caroline Henderson, Joseph Henderson, Susanna (Story), Elihu A. Simons, Mary (Gray) and the Henderson children: Caroline, Lovice, Louisa, Jasper, Alana, Hellen were in the 1850 census at Walker Township, Kent Count and then at Ashland Township and Dayton Township, Newaygo County. Alana/Altania Henderson married William Baker. Helen Henderson married Roswell Gilbert. Louisa Henderson married Calvin Reams. Jasper Henderson married Julia Travis. The families moved to Selma Township, Wexford County, Michigan. Bakers were in Cadillac. Gilberts were in Reed City, Osceola County. The International Genealogical Index shows Calvin and Louisa (Henderson) Reams in Logan, Ohio with eleven children. Caroline Henderson married Elihu A. Simons (Sr.). They had Minnie Simons, Charles Simons, and William Simons.
Joseph Henderson fought in the War of 1812. After he died Susanna Story Henderson applied for a widow's pension. The pension file shows both Joseph and Susanna had been married before: Joseph to Laura and Susanna to Enos Phippen. There was no proof of the marriages or deaths. Caroline and Helen helped fill out the applications. The bureaucracy finally gave the go ahead. Susanna died shortly after. I have not been able to find the origins of Joseph Henderson. He was born in Maine. I found a likely set of parents, but they married after Joseph birth. Michael Henderson also from Newaygo is not related because his parents were not named Henderson. Michael was born in Scotland around ten years after Joseph. I'm looking for fellow searchers.
Does anyone know more about Elihui A. SIMONS and Caroline Henderson?

Both Charles and Mary were born in the Strathroy, Ontario region, and married there. The family spent approximately 10 years in Franklin Co., IA, before moving to Newaygo County. There is a possibility that there are still descendants of this family in the Newaygo Co area.
