McLane Post Office was established on September 11, 1882 along the Chicago and West Michigan Railroads between White Cloud and Woodville in Section 22 of Wilcox Township.    Alex Reed was the first and only Postmaster. The office was discontinued September 6, 1886 and the mail then went to White Cloud.
