Jericho Post Office was established August 15, 1881 with Ed A. Derby as Postmaster. Ed
Derby owned land in Section 31 of Ashland Township about one half mile north of where the
Dickinson School was located.
Jericho was discontinued on February 22, 1882. The mail then went to Trent Post Office in Muskegon County. Derby was the only postmaster.
